Karen Fitzer
Festival Judge. Bachelor’s degree in English literature University of Chicago. Studies in Race, Politics, and Culture. Rather long immersion in film studies library at U of C. ; where she took the Doc in Doc Films seriously. Longtime activism to bring an end to capital punishment in PA and USA. Lived in Nicaragua during revolutionary and contra period picking cotton and coffee. Traveled throughout Central America, Cuba and Jamaica. Grows vegetables, teaches ESL and fights for social justice in Philly.
