30 min, 6 pm Fri Dec 20, 2, & 6 pm Sat Dec 21 & Sun Dec 22 [BUY TICKETS]

In this family-friendly Christmas comedy featuring traditional carols, audience interaction, a crash course in Yiddish and a photo op, the wise man Melchior arrives early to find Joseph fixing a manger and the midwife Shifra attending to Mary. Before the show, children are given props such as a pillow, a blanket or a flyswatter to give to the characters when asked. Four Christmas carols are woven into the story: We Three Kings, O Little Town of Bethlehem, Away in a Manger and What Child Is This. The lyrics appear onscreen and the audience is encouraged to sing along. Towards the end, Melchior hands out Hanukkah Gelt (chocolate coins that are nut and gluten free) to the children as a reward for giving props and singing. After the show, families are encouraged to come onstage and get their picture taken with the cast. The photos will be displayed until Three Kings Day on The Cycletron, Yellow Bicycle’s 130″ outdoor screen facing the Christmas Village in Love Park. This world-premiere nativity play features company member Patricia Casperson as Shifra, founder Joshua Crone as Melchior and YBC newcomer Lane Norris as Joseph.
