Five Plays

by Joshua Crone

(Out of Competition)

STORY

In 2019, four faces from This Person Does Not Exist joined Joshua Crone in founding Reviews from Underground. Five years later, the pseudonymous critics are reuniting onscreen from their homes in Los Angeles, London, Berlin and Warsaw to pose tough questions for the Philly-based playwright: “Why build a theater during a pandemic?” “Why self-publish your collected plays?” “Why interview yourself in foreign accents for a book launch billed as a solo show?”

“Five Plays” spans a decade of writing, directing, and theater-building, from a military psychodrama penned in Berlin and produced in Los Angeles to a psychedelic comedy conceived in Joshua Tree, premiered in New York just before the lockdowns and revived in Philadelphia to save a struggling new theater. The interview will be followed by an audience Q&A and book signing.

NOTE: Each full-price ticket includes a copy of the book. Additional copies will be available for $19.95 plus tax.
